OUTLINE OF THE ESSAY

Topic: The use of fear to manipulate the world.

Possible Title: The new power to change your mind: controlling your fears.

Quantity of possible paragraphs: seven paragraphs

Paragraph 1: Introduction. Here we are going to starting by saying how the world has changed through the years, and mentioning the emergence of social media. Then, the thesis is going to be set. Thesis: Using fear is a new strategy to manipulate the world. Kind of education: critical education.

Paragraph 2: Definition of fear, kinds of fear, the relation between fear and social media, the first example of how fear is used to manipulate. (In advertisements to make others buy something)

Paragraph 3: Explanation of domains that are important in our society. (Domains in terms of environment/relationship/ physical appearance…)

Paragraph 4: The fear in political terms, description of our context (political context). Examples. 

Paragraph 5: The fear in order to meet current social stereotypes. How people do something or do not do something in order to not to be “bad seen” by others. Examples

Paragraph 6: To mention some consequences or characteristics of the society that we have due to this manipulation. 

Paragraph 7: Conclusion. Here we are going to take into account the previous arguments and retake them briefly so that we can build a solution. A possible solution since a superficial view is: to strength people’s mind through education, so that people do not let others persuade them easily.
